Yoga for Total Beginners (5-week series)
Sundays 10-11 AM PT, April 11 - May 9 and/or via video on demand.

Picture
With this Zoom- and video-based introductory series, my intent is to :
-  Demystify some common misperceptions about yoga (hint : it’s not a religion, and twisting the body into intolerable shapes is not required).
-  Gently guide participants into basic yoga poses (asana) to build strength and flexibility while exploring the connection between body, mind and spirit.
-  Introduce basic breathing and meditation techniques to help calm “the monkey mind.”
-  Provide participants with an opportunity to learn and practice as a group and/or on your own. A video will be provided after each session. Participants are encouraged to practice with the video between sessions.
-  Empower participants at the end of the 5-week series to continue to comfortably practice on your own or with The Bucolic Yogi community.

Tips for Success

Picture
Each class builds on the previous. Participants are encouraged to practice each session either in person (on Zoom) or on your own in the sequence provided.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely through a wide range of movement. (no shoes or socks)
Although no equipment is required, I highly recommend making the following investment in yourself to support your commitment to continue your practice.
  • A yoga mat (3-5mm)
  • Two yoga blocks (larger blocks are more stable, smaller blocks may be preferred for those with a small frame or small hands)
  • A strap (a belt, towel or knit shirt work fine)
  • A bolster, pillow or comfy cushion to sit on
  • A cozy blanket or throw (after all, this is all about you!)
Many options available at www.yogaaccessories.com or www.yogaoutlet.com.
