What type of yoga do you teach? I draw from a number of yoga disciplines, Hindu text, religious and spiritual practices, modern psychology (and more) to offer what can most closely be described as Kriya yoga, the yoga of action. My goal is to empower you to develop a deep understanding of yourself through the practice of asana and pranayama (poses and breathwork), svadhyaya (self-inquiry) and isvarapranidhana (the quality of our actions). Kriya comes from the sanskrit word “kr,” meaning “to do” and “yoga,” the ability to direct the mind without interruption or distraction.
Where do you teach? Group class information can be found on this page. Private yoga is offered either in your home or in my small home studio in La Honda, California.
When are your classes? Group class information can be found on this page.
What level are your classes? Are they appropriate for beginners? All group classes are appropriate for all levels of experience. I define an experienced yogi as one who has learned to listen to, respect, and care for the needs of their unique being. Experience is not defined by how well you perform a particular pose or by the complexity of poses offered. I offer a variety of poses, breathwork and self-exploration options to meet a wide variety of needs. If at any time you are not getting what you need, let me know and we can work together to find an option that is right for you.
How do I sign up for group classes? Group class information can be found on this page.
Do you teach private yoga? Yes! I love working privately with clients either in your home or in my small home studio in La Honda, California. Please reach out to learn more about whether private practice is right for you.
How much do your classes cost? All group classes are offered by donation. The suggested donation is $10-$20 per class. No one is turned away for lack of funds. Donations may be made via cash in person, Zelle, or Venmo. Paypal is also accepted but not preferred due to the fees. Please reach out for account information.
What equipment do I need to practice with you? No equipment is required but a yoga mat is highly (I mean really highly) recommended. Blocks, straps, and a warm blanket are also recommended.
What is your COVID protocol for in-person participants? Ahimsa, a Sanskrit word that means non-harming in English, is the foundation of yoga's ethical code. As such, I take protecting our community very seriously and have adjusted my in-person offerings accordingly. Please click here for the COVID protocol for attending classes in person.
Do you have equipment to loan? As part of my COVID protocol, I ask that you please bring your own equipment. To protect yourself and our community, shared/loaner equipment is not available at this time.
